In 2012, one of the goals of the Ethics Center at Central Michigan University was to encourage students to vote absentee, and to make them aware of the process they'd need to follow to be allowed to do so.

To grab the attention of students on campus, I utilized popular memes to help them understand how to vote absentee. The three most popular were Bad Luck Brian, Futurama Fry, and Confused Gandalf. In fact, the Bad Luck Brian poster was so popular it was actually stolen from its display case.
