I currently work at Girl Scouts of Western Ohio to simplify and enhance the Girl Scout experience for our members. I have a strong track record in evolving with the ever-changing internet, implementing new and innovative methods along the way. 

My digital marketing experiences have led me toward a specific interest in web design and content marketing. It enables organizations and companies to reach new audiences and develop more personal relationships with members and customers. Marketing Manager, Member Experience - Girl Scouts of Western Ohio

2020 - Current

As the Marketing Manager, Member Experience, I develop and implement marketing strategies for current members and volunteers at Girl Scouts of Western Ohio. This includes membership renewal, product program, program events, outdoor program, highest awards, volunteer appreciation, and family giving, as well as overseeing our website and email. I help each team find the right mix of print, digital, video and other marketing techniques to accomplish their goal – while seeking ways to simplify and enhance the Girl Scout experience for our members.
Duties and accomplishments include:
• Evaluating and expanding content on the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio website utilizing Adobe Experience Manager to provide the best user experience for parents, volunteers, staff, donors, and other stakeholders
• Collaborating with Recruitment, Program, Fund Development, and Volunteer HR teams to develop the best mix of print, digital, video, and other marketing techniques to accomplish their goals
• Presented about transitioning a successful in-person event into a virtual space during the 2021 Council Staff Summit for more than 300 people from Girl Scout councils around the country

Digital Marketing Manager - Girl Scouts of Western Ohio

2016 -2020

In 2016, I joined the Marketing and Communications team at Girl Scouts of Western Ohio (GSWO) as the Digital Marketing Manager. GSWO serves nearly 39,000 girls in a 32-county area throughout western Ohio and southeast Indiana, with the support of nearly 10,000 dedicated volunteers.
Duties and accomplishments included:
• Working with multiple cross-functional teams to build a WordPress website showcasing Girl Scouts of Western Ohio camp properties and programs
• Reimagining and rebuilding the camp website as a home base for virtual summer camp in 2020, where we served more than 7,500 girls and expanded our national reach
• Developing a local Girl Scouts at Home web page to provide resources for parents and volunteers looking to continue their Girl Scout experience while quarantining during the COVID-19 pandemic
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop more than 150 virtual programs for girls, parents, and volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic, growing our Facebook presence by 42% and our YouTube presence by 339%
• Creating a 6-month series of emails welcoming new parents and caregivers to Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, segmenting information based on audience
• Collaborating with cross-functional departments to write and build welcome emails for six different audiences with helpful information for new members
• Writing, editing, and maintaining an editorial calendar for the GSWO Blog, with an overall focus on customer service to parents, caregivers, and volunteers
• Segmenting our most popular newsletter by girl’s grade level to provide only the most relevant content to parents and caregivers
• Consistently meeting deadlines and establishing strong working relationships with coworkers while working remotely
• Regularly analyzed results of all digital initiatives, utilizing learnings for future plans and presenting findings to senior leadership team
• Rebranding the GSWO Instagram account, @girlscoutswoh, and tripling the Instagram following
• Presenting on Instagram strategy to marketing professionals from other Girl Scout councils at the national Girl Scouts MarComm Conference in June 2017
Rebranding the Early Bird spring renewal campaign, incorporating national branding and messaging with a new spin that would excite both volunteers and girl members
• Adapting the Early Bird spring renewal campaign incentives, resulting in a 300% increase in renewals in the first phase of the campaign
• Experimenting with Facebook advertising during peak membership registration periods, decreasing the cost per acquisition from $32 to $12 in four months

I designed and launched my online blog in 2014 to help female entrepreneurs navigate the technical side of blogging and design.
Duties and accomplishments include:
• Writing new content weekly on topics including blogging, design, and career advice
• Increasing traffic by 700% with social media outreach and SEO
• Planning and maintaining universal content calendar, including blog, social media, and email content
• Growing email list through free worksheets and workbooks for subscribers

Marketing Manager - Applied Imaging

2013 -2016

In 2013, I was hired as the first internal marketing manager at Applied Imaging. I grew the department from scratch and helped the company grow from a $42 million company in 2013 to a $56 million company in 2015 while partnering with an advertising agency.
Duties and accomplishments included:
• Writing parody song for and project managing a $25k sing-a-long video to illustrate company culture to prospective employees and clients
• Redesigning website, transferring from Joomla to WordPress.org and reorganizing content to be more helpful for both clients and prospects
• Increasing Facebook presence by 65% through email marketing
• Facilitating social media
• Moderating internal intranet postings to help monitor engagement
• Organizing client appreciation events with 400+ in attendance
• Creating and approving print and digital marketing collateral
• Creating book showcasing Applied Imaging culture for all employees

Contributing Writer - Enrou


In 2013, I joined the Enrou team as a volunteer contributing writer to expand the Enrou Journal. I used blogging as a tool to showcase brands and highlight global poverty issues.
Duties included:
• Creating biweekly content about global poverty issues
• Researching human rights abuses affecting global poverty
• Working with photographers to create photo that tells story of each blog post
• Promoting all blog content on social media channels

Marketing Intern - Grand Rapids Civic Theatre


In 2013, I joined the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre team to support the Marketing & Development department.
Duties and accomplishments included:
• Working with media to promote community theatre and GRCT shows
• Streamlining donation request process
• Organizing community events to promote production of Legally Blonde: The Musical
Researching history of GRCT to promote production of Sherlock Holmes to media during a Mystery History Tour exclusive event

2012 -2013

In 2012, I joined the Central Michigan University Ethics Center as its first and sole graphic designer. My primary responsibility was to create signage to display on campus that would grab the attention of and resonate with students on various ethical issues.
Duties and accomplishments included:
• Creating promotional materials for Piece of the Palace event in August 2013
• Creating promotional posters and brochures for university students about how to vote absentee

I joined the CMU Writing Center team in 2011. My various writing experiences enabled me to assist students and faculty members with different style guides and writing styles.

I joined the CM Life team as a reporter in 2011. Throughout my two years on the team, I wrote for both the student life and metro desks.

President - Invisible Children Registered Student Organization

2009 -2013

I joined the Invisible Children Registered Student Organization at CMU in 2009 and became president of the group a year later. I elevated the group around campus, raising thousands of dollars for communities in central east Africa.
Duties and accomplishments included:
• Organizing fundraising events and documentary screenings each semester at CMU
• Raising more than $6,500 as a club in one semester to build radio towers in the Democratic Republic of Congo
• Increasing event attendance from 50 people to 250 people in one semester
• Speaking to groups as large as 350 people

Marketing Intern - Celebration! Cinema


In 2012 I joined the marketing team at Celebration! Cinema, a movie theatre chain with 12 locations in 6 markets across west and central Michigan.
Duties and accomplishments included:
• Helping orchestrate movie premieres, midnight screenings, and Ladies’ Night Out events with more than 500 in attendance
• Working with media partners to promote upcoming movies on the radio, television and print publications
• Creating posters, brochures, coupons and other graphic design elements for use in theaters
• Photographing theater events with Nikon SLR camera
• Analyzing data from individual theaters’ Facebook pages to determine which theaters had best techniques and how to implement these techniques on each individual Facebook page

In 2012 I had a marketing internship with Heart Cry International, a non-profit organization that helps children in Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Myanmar, Nigeria, and the United States.
